Baking Frenzy

I found a few good reliable recipe that require a few ingredient that not realy easy to find esp @ my home
area so i googled a bit and made a new discovery..hope you like it :

BUTTERMILK
Have heavy cream in the fridge? If so, you have everything you need to make real buttermilk
Once you see how easy it is to make buttermilk, you'll want to make your own everytime. Here's how:
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
  • Heavy cream (avoid ultra-pasteurized)
Preparation:
1. Fill a jar halfway with heavy cream. Then, screw the lid on firmly (a canning jar works well for this purpose).
2. Start shaking the jar back and forth. After several minutes, the cream will thicken and turn into whipped cream. Keep shaking until the whipped cream is replaced with a yellow glob (butter) and a separate liquid (buttermilk).
3. Pour the buttermilk out of the jar, and use it in any recipe that calls for buttermilk.
To Use the Butter: Knead it under cold water for a couple minutes to remove any remaining buttermilk (it will spoil very quickly, if you don't). Then, salt (if desired), and store in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it.

BUTTERMILK SUBSTITUTE
Making a recipe that calls for buttermilk? Use this simple substitute, and you won't need to buy any:
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
  • Milk (just under one cup)
  • 1 Tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
Preparation:
1. Place a Tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice in a liquid measuring cup.
2. Add enough milk to bring the liquid up to the one-cup line.
3. Let stand for five minute. Then, use as much as your recipe calls for.

HEAVY CREAM INFO
Almost all dairy companies sell heavy cream in pint cartons. It is the the top of the milk skimmed off that can be made into whipping cream or if shaken or mixed enough made into butter. I use it in my homemade caramels. It is very delicious but not the healthiest thing to eat all the time because it contains a lot of cholesterol. Children in elementary school here usually have the opportunity to shake it into butter in their classrooms so they can see how butter is made, then get to eat it on crackers. You will find it in any stores dairy cooler section.

The brands would vary depending which area of the country you live as dairy companies do not sell world wide, usually just locally. Here are a few from my area, Shroeder's, Kemp's, Dairy Fresh.

Report card day

It was a busy day that day...in the morning there was an interview that i need to attend then later on off to my kids school to meet their teachers and discuss their progress with their class teachers.  I was running late actually, the meeting ends at 12.00 but i reached the school at 1 pm. Hastily i ran the stairs and intended to go to Irfan's first but then i have a change of heart and decided to go to Najma's. Surprisingly i saw my daughter sitting on her chair, still waiting for me. She was happy i came at last regardless i'm late. Her face light up and that jubilee face full of smiles while she told her classmate (there are  4 of them still around since their parents were unable to come) that i'm her mother.  That happy face of my daughter bring me back down memory lane on my own report card days.

You see, my father was a very busy guy and my mum ..well although she's a 'domestic manager', she can't drive at that time and we only have one car back then.  I remember my father used to give these answer when i asked why he never came to my class or even come during appreciation day. He answered " You always get the best results in your exam..it's nothing new, so unless it's your brother  then i'll come". What he meant was that, i always get good result in my exams but never in sports..it's the other way around with my brother, he excell in sports. So unless i get a reward for sports , my father will come. The thing is, i suck in sport!.

Soon it became a habit to me not to have my parents to come during report card day,even during my diploma graduation!.  and the reason i stay  focus on my studies is because only through that i know at least i'm better in other field if compared to my brother. It's some sort of motivation to me.  Don't get me wrong, I have no grudge towards my dad, in fact because of that i can relate and understand how one child felt being 'different'.  As i grew up, i make a promise to myself that regardless of my child's ability, i am not going to differentiate them,  in fact motivate them so they know that they do not need to be a genius to get my love and attention.  They already have my love and attention by simply being my children regardless their ability.

The story doesn't end here actually, after meeting with Najma's teacher, we went to see Irfan's. Irfan's actually were rehearsing his choral speaking . The tournament is today. My son is very active in his extra curricular activities that it affected his studies...and yes he excell in his extra curricular activities, the last competition he participate, he won!. Najma on the other hand choose to focus on her study, she gets no 9 for her class and 11 for the whole standard 3 (total student for the whole standard 3 is 176 students).  Both shows their capability in different field. Regardless of that..both have my love and definitely my attention.

So friends, if you have any children, please do not differentiate them regardless of their ability or whatever traits that separate them from others. These children are God's gift to us and for that we must appreciate them.

before i ask sum1 with this trait as my staff..i must first have it

i was having brunch @ secret recipe when i learn that one of the staff is actually leaving to further his study. today is actually his last day yet he's working like he is still coming to work tomorrow.that intrigued me so i ask him why...why work you ass out eventhough today is your last day?. he gave me this answer "until my shift is over , then my responsibility as a staff here will end...untill then i carry the responsibility that i'm expected to shoulder".i like this kid..at this age he has shown the traits that can carry him miles away.i'll remember his name, his face so in case in future i have the capacity..i want this boy as one of my staff, in my team as my collegue. that reminds me sumething...before i ask anyone to have this trait..i must first embeded it within me. as for you kid...good luck ..i wish you the best in your future..in your career.your parents must be proud to hv you as a son..coz if i'm your mother...i sure do!

It's good to send ur children to school..it reminds you you're a mother

This morning i decided to sent Najma to school since Irfan was not around and i just don't feel comfortable her walking alone to school.  The thing is that my to do list today has 8 top priority that need my upmost attention before 8.30am (that is when the big boss entered the office), so i want everything is on his desk by the time he entered his space.  I was so into my to do list while driving (it just obvious i'm not really paying attention on the road), i forgot Najma was with me!. Only until she said "Ibu, are we goin to your office first ?" then i realize my daughter was sitting behind me waiting to be sent to school!..Ya Allah!!!, so i turned back and say sorry (tons of it) to Najma. The words that come from her gives this great undescribeable stab in my heart. She said " It's Ok ibu, i know you're busy but still you want to send me to school, that shows me you love me. Next time i'll be independant so that you don't need to worry about me. I'm sorry ibu".   Nak menitik air mata aku dengar anak cakap macam tuh...that very sentence remind me that above all.... I AM A MOTHER. and above all else...Thank you  ALLAH for giving me this special child as my daughter, for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this family. Thank you KZ Clan...thank you Tuanku KZ. Rezeki orang memang lain-lain....this is the rezeki Allah bagi kat aku...alhamdulillah.

Relationship..the ups and down. A view fr a bystander

Relationship to me defined as an intangible connection that relates between two individuals that based on trust, compromising and accepting the better half as who and what he or she is.  The recipe to make it work differs from one couple to others yet it is still evolve around those three pillars i note above.  What struck me in awe is when one half  is willing to suffer in accepting the other half's substance yet being ignored of the necessities that requires by the acceptor.  Can you understand what i'm trying to say here?.Well it is not really a riddle that need an Eintein to crack, you just need to understand the scenario why i wrote this.  and those who understand it knows who they are.  My best advise?...decide and decide well you must, stick with that decision is the foremost important thing.  wish you luck hon!

A DejaVu feelin

To those who frequented my home back in Kluang during my teen days, you might have the liberties to experience 'the debate' between me and my dad. The debate will always won by my dad regardless all the facts i gave because my dad being him..he will give this one point that slash out my earlier facts, whether the fact is fictious or real, my dad has these expertise in making it seems real.

Now that he passed away (7 years now ~alfatihah), the thing i misses most is to have that same debate experience, the same adrenalin rush the same eagerness, desire to give the one fact that kills the debate. Never had the opportunity until now. The only difference is that the role is reverse, now i took my dad's role while my role took by....my own son.  The feelin is like deja vu with a twist. My husband always ask me whether Irfan will grow up to be the school's debator  like me ..hahahahah...who knows?? another anugerah debat perdana on the shelve? well if u ask me 1 debator in the hse is enough...@ tuanku KZ perlu menguatkan jantung , he seriously need it ~ LOL ~

2 cents opinion of my former bosses ~ a compilation

My first job was in banking line and that was 1996.All in all, i have been working for about 15 years!.  Along the road  i met numerous bosses that colours my journey till today.  Among all these bosses, there are those that leaves gr8 impact on my stand and belief in managing my career so let me share it with you guys  :

1. Never let others take your role or you will cease to exist;
2. When you work as a team...YOU WORK AS A TEAM;
3. The 1st reason in failing on an assignment start with C : Communication;
4. Embark on a role as a bridge that connects between one point to another;
5. No human is perfect thus the loophole of your team is where you cover with your strength;
6. Find one's strength, fully utilize it to ensure the success of an assignment;
7. Never bad mouth your bosses
8. Black is black, white is white, wrong is wrong, right is right.

along these 15 years, i met a variety character of bosses too, you name it fr the kind that throw files even to the extend of the most lenient one.  But among those , there is this 1 that i will never forget~the one who asked me that "you have to go to the length of infinity in satisfying your customer's needs". Sorry hon..customer's satisfaction to me is if it doesn't clash with my principal, belief and faith.  Heard he is now being posted at an oversea branch..i wonder the kinda hell he's giving the staff over there...(LOL). For those who comes fr my 1st job (you guys know who you are)..let us wish this former boss of us has change his customer service motto for the sake of his staff sanity! .

Anyong Haseyo!!!

We just came back fr our vacation at Seoul, South Korea and my my my it was a gr8 5 days to start my new year wif my hubby. Learn a few Korean words so let me share these words for you guys whoever planning to go there :

Hi/Hello/Good Morning : Anyong Haseyo
Miss : Onni
To address a guy : Uppa
Asking how much : Eolmayeyo
Asking for a discount : Kakajuseyo
Thank you : Kamsa Hamnida

Buying things there are fun..the cheapest souvenir u could find would be 5000 korean won  which equivalent at our time there is RM15.  The souvenir that you can buy for friends are like : Korean ginseng tea (which they are very proud of), leather syillings pouch, magnetic fridge @ keychain (too common rite ?..but hey buy those with the picture of people wearing hanbok~i bought those for my friends),bookmark of hanbok and tons of ginseng candy (taste of coz like ~ ginseng!) and spoon (funny?..the unique part of these spoon is that they have a long handle and they do not have fork as pairs to the spoon ok) plus teaspoon.  The places you can buy these things are : Namdaemon @ Dongdaemon. If you're going to buy the spoon, i would suggest @ Dongdaemon Level 5, there is a souvenir shop (choose the right hand shop instead of left one~ the owner is much nicer and patient with customer).The price of the spoon there is 1000 korean won compare to Namdaemon 2000  (i bought the spoons for myself). As for others, well you can just buy those at either place, the price makes no difference.

Weather wise?..when we're there it was -14 C...hahaha i was like freezing to death with the climate but that's the whole point i went there. To feel how winter felt!.  Allah even grant my main wish ~ to experience snow falls. I experience that while at Everland!.I even got to ski at Jisan Ski resort and luckily i did not fall (i won't tell you the tricks guys~it's a secret!).  Alhamdulillah..at least now when my husband tell tale about winter etc i can relate to it somehow.So i attach a few pic i took while i was there. I receive the same letter too

i note ur point fr. i did. at the same time let me put it at this perspective, the instruction is clear..it's not about demoralizing any1 or belittle any1.y don't we use it as a medium to support ourselves when we carry out the instructions?..why must one be a pessimist when it comes to this?..turn the table and use it as a tool of motivation.  after all, you only get the letter, i got the letter and the lecture!!!

Compilation of my husband's jokes

This year will mark our 12th years of marriage (although not by month). 12 years and 3 great and talented offsprings is not the only great things in my life's journey. My husband likes to crack jokes although for those who doesn't know him might have an offtrack first impression's. Being scarcastic did shape a lot of his jokes so now let me share with you the most patented jokes he uses on daily basis..his trademark jokes i called it . Enjoy!!

Situation : When the food serve is hot from the kitchen.
A : Panas la nasi/ lauk ni
En KZ : Ambik Payung

Situation : When ask to describe a person over and over again
A : Besar mana orangnya?
En KZ : Besar gobok baju ni ha.

Situation : When we dine out at a wifi restaurant
A : En nak order apa?
En KZ : Saya nak free weefee.

OR

Situation : Paying our bills at a wifi restaurant
En KZ : Mana free weefee saya?.

Situation : Ordering drinks and we took a long time to order
En KZ : Hah mintak air bateri, air hujan, air sungai...dah!

Situation : When choosing the colour of fabric
En KZ : Warna paddle pop ader?

This is the most classic of  all...i call it lawak 'pat'
Situation : When complimenting a well groom hand
A : Cantik tangan dia kan...mesti lembut tangan dia
En KZ : Yup...confirm lembut cam pat
Note : 'Pat' means kera, monyet dan yang sekutu dengannya in his hometown

Now frenz..don't get me wrong..these jokes is not my husband's weakness...it's what makes him dear to my heart...Happy anniversary in advance En KZ!!!!

Reminding myself why i need to do this

In many task that i have been assigned before , there 2 task that i detest the most...asset related and financial related.  This habit of mine to do things right the first time and detailing strategies and approach sometimes seen as something that like a burden to me although that's the very reason i was assigned to such assignments.  Let me ask this question, how many of you out there really have the guts to let someone like my traits to do your asset auditing as well as supervise your financial matters?. sometime people just want to make it simple. to my opinion making it simple is fine as long as the whole procedure is obeyed.  Most people have the knack of simplifying things and overruled the procedure...that is like giving your neck on the chop board! I wish i can do something else, let me tell you something, the reason why i'm good in those field because i learn from all the mistakes i done along the way of my early career, that took 6 years of perfecting!!!.That's the reason i need to learn other stuff...it's all due to my passion for knowledge.
